I've heard that it hurts a little bit worse than getting your ear lobe pierced, is that true?

Getting pierced does involve a little pain, depending on your tolerance levels. Usually, though, it's described as just a quick pinch.
As for your other question, get a small, modest stud. Two points on that: A) Things get caught on hoops (such as pillowcases) and B) they're much easier to remove for cleaning.

I had my nose pierced, but it didn't hurt as bad as I expected it to. I had a stud, I think whether or not to get a hoop depends on the shape of your nose. The small stud looked cute for me, and I was happy.

I'm not sure how bad it hurts. But I'd say a stud is sexier than a hoop. Just don't get the "bull-ring" style...
Also, the stud is not as distracting to others as the hoop.

I got my nostril pierced a lil' over 3 yrs. ago...I like both hoops, & studs...but personally I prefer a small diamond stud...And no....it's not true...It doesn't hurt worse than an ear lobe piercing...At least not in my opinion!....I've got 7 earrings (3 in each lobe, 1 in my cartilage)....and my nostril piercing hurt A LOT LESS...It actually wasn't even painful at all...All I basically felt was pressure....

It doesn't really hurt all that bad. But my eyes did water, kinda like as if I was punched in the nose or something. In my opinion I think that studs look best.
I think nose piercing are sexy! If you get it done I hope you enjoy it! :)

I personally don't think nose piercings look good on girls and if you get one, don't get a hoop, just get a stud

It doesn't hurt at all.I pierced my nose myself in the 7th grade.and it didn't hurt one bit.I personally like a stud,cuz you can take it out whenever and you don't have to dig in your nose to do it.and if it does start to hurt just think about how good it will look after you have it.
