How do you format a WD raptor sata hard drive, My windows XP cannot find the drive on my board, Do I need to do something first so the XP software can find it?

Get your motherboard driver disc out. See if it has any "sis" files on it or drivers for sata drives. You'll have to load them to a floppy. Then go to Western Digital web site to find the controllers for the Raptor sata drive. Also go to the manuals and read the instructions on how to format and install the drive to an XP system. I have a WD sata drive in mine and I required help from a "Techie" to get it going. There is a certain file from the mobo drivers CD that you'll have to get to make sata drive work with XP.
