It's a new season , they've been sandbagging on the defense this off season. They're deep in wide receivers, along with a couple of good QBs. I think Shell will bring discipline and tradition back to the Silver and Black. I predict they'll go on a wild card. Just win baby!

Aaron Brooks at QB will make a big difference since he's mobile and has excellent receivers (Moss, Porter, Gabriel)
The O line should be VERY good with Art Shell and Jacki Slater (both HOF O Linemen) coaching
The Raiders D is muchimproved from last year.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders go 9-7 and make the playoffs

Reasons they could go all the way:
- Lots of skill at the offensive skill positions;
- Art Shell;
- Plenty of new young talent on the defensive side.
Reasons they're unlikely to go all the way:
- Only 84.5 rushing YPG (& that's with LaMont Jordan on the roster);
- Ranked 23rd in league in points per game (division rivals ranked #5, #6 and #7);
- Last season's defense: allowed 128.1 rushing YPG, 202.7 passing YPG & 23.9 points per game;
- Al Davis.
Sorry, but teams generally don't turn around that quicky from three consecutive seasons at 4-12, 5-11 & 4-12. They could make significant improvement this year, but they're just not in the right division to make the playoffs yet. Too many question marks.

Being a Raider fan going back to to lamonica blanda branch et al, I would love to see the Raiders go all the way. Realistically , I don't think it's going to happen. If the plan is to go with Brooks @ QB I don't think it's a reality. I don't think he can take this team(or any other team) all the way.

I've been a Raiders fan for 22 years and I don't have that much optimism. They have a lot of young talent, though.
As long as Kerry Collins is nowhere near the field, I'll watch.

Yeah they might get the #1 draft pick but they are not going to the
by any means. They just got a new coach and quaterback. Their defense has made some changes but not enough to take them all the way.

all the way to the highest penaltied squad for '07 (as usual).. they are most undisciplined team in the nfl.. either that or the nfl is just hatin' on them
as long as al davis is the owner.. that franchise is doomed

All the way to the bottom...Well ok, they may not be that bad this year, but I don't see them being better than .500
