i feel the same way. i have the perfect measurements to be a model but im too short. im 5'1! i feel an agency or clothing designer should break out of the normal sterotype of models and start hiring shorter ppl. theyve already open up to full figure models!

Tall people are maybe percieved as more attractive. Being short is sometimes considered a defficiency or a negative quality.
I think it stems back from the race of giant "Titans" as they were called. These people roamed the earth and were the so-called Gods of the past.
A real race. They were just big people. Thousands of years ago.
Anyway, they're body type has been basically the standard that people have been baseing beauty off of for years.
And they were tall, white, blond, with blue eyes.
I don't agree with this, but it seems like the world does.

The designers themselves decide upon the "ideal" figure for a woman, and then the scale their clothes to that. A fashion designer will tell you that clothes hang better on taller women. So really, it's all just a matter of the designer's preference. Which is also why women's clothes don't have standardized sizes like men's clothes do.
I'm 5'9", and I have problems finding anything long enough for me to wear - whether it's pants length or one-piece bathing suits. So we all have clothes issues.

The Fashion Industry wants the clothes to look good;clothes looks good on a taller, thinner person because of proportions. The Fashion Industry,to save money, also decided to use one small size as the sample size,so all models have to fit in the same size 2.

Its for the slim line effect in the fashion industry... also tall and slim shoot well for movies/tv screens... short do not. But there are modeling agencies out there for short and slim women... Budweiser.. race car medias do not mind the short and slim. ;) Cheers!

well, not all models are tall. only high-fashion and runway models are. there are petite models, which are shorter and commercial models don't really have to be tall.
