Is the most appropriate gesture to bend at the waist, point at your rear, and then point the other hand at the offending motorist?

Depending on which country you're in, it may be best to just flip them off, extend the two first fingers or thumb, tap your temple, etc., but I want something universal.

If someone ever tries to run me over, I just want to make it clear what I think of them, and I am thinking that my first gesture listed above is quite universal.

i usually give a big thumbs up letting them know "way to go" and hopefully making them feel like a jackass. instead of flipping the bird which could potentially tick them off (never know who's sporting a gun these days).

Well you could flip them off with the middle finger that is pretty universal. LOL
Just wanted to tell you i'm not to worried about the 360 page because i accidently got it and i don't know how to work it all i have is my avatar and that's it. But you should go to edit your profile and let people contact you through yahoo answers so you don't have to give your email. And lastly i wanted to say i don't want you to stop asking questions because they make me laugh and i think they are the best questions. LOL oh and you didn't answer my question... Who do you have a crush on and why?? ; )

The appropiate gesture would be to retrieve a pen a paper quickly to write down their licience plate number and report them to the police. Any childish gesturing at this point could result in another accident, and possibly injuring someone else who is not involved with your "close call". It won't help you a bit. Cute little question, but you can't really be serious.

Let the thumb to the nose for a moment linger!
Show the digit next to your ring finger!
Any sign but that's a sight too tame.
On either hand it means the same.

A weird hex sign or shaken fist
Are dorky but fine if you insist!

You can flip him off or flag him down
And stomp his buns into the ground
In case you happened to have the luck
For the driver to be driving a pastry truck.

Box his ears! Black his eyes!
But first you have to catch those guys.
If you're walking, you can never out-match'im,
For he is driving, and you can't catch'im!

Alas! Such bird-brains soon are flown;
Just vent your rage with your finger bone.

I hear you. It's most annoying. Check out if there is a speed camera or CCTV in the area, then let them somehow know that they have been seen by Big Brother. Try not to stoop to their level by using obscene gestures, they will probably just laugh and then you will get even more annoyed.

If it isn't universal now, it soon could be! Unfortunately, you can't use it safely if they almost run you over when you are in a car or on a bike. They could get the last laugh then!

A baseball bat through the windshield would do it. But as far as gestures, I don't know if there is one that is universal.

The middle finger. To reinforce the meaning you could follow it up with some choice words.

I think throwing something at them and chasing them down the street is the most effective. Maybe even bust a cap.
