Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstien.

Short, funny poems, about nearly everything.

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
and before the street begins,
and there the grass grows soft and white,
and there the sun burns crimson bright,
and there the moon-bird rests from his flight
to cool in the peppermint wind.

Man, I need to dig those out and read them again....

Mine was all the Goosebump books and the Animorphs series. I was on an advanced reading level when I was little so I tended to prefer them.

Little House on the Prairie series. I loved these before they started the television show. They show how life is meant to be...family, friends, hard work, pleasure in simple things, respect, etc.
