Can I start at the bottom and work up, gathering knowledge and experience along the way, will that be an advantage? I can train one step at a time, would HR professionals employee me? I would like to start as and HR administrator.

Registar at a temp agency in your town. Tell the recruiter that you are interested in HR and want to work in the department. Its not hard department to get into. I fell into HR by accident and I get soooo many calls from agency's and people wanting me to interview for HR positions.

Join the HR professionals organization in your area. Volunteer to work on committees and boards. Join local Toastmaster's Club. Go to local Chamber of Commerce mixers and collect business cards. Tell HR people you are writing a book and interview them. Contact high school or college alumni in the industry. Ask friends and relatives to help. Use LinkedIn. Use your State Unemployment Agency. Yes you can indeed. I worked in HR for 5 years and never did take a single CIPD course. Most start out as payroll clerks.
