Well I believe that you would have to be the one to make the final desicison about that question because even though it might be a boring job you need to think about your future that lies ahead of you. First of all you will be making more money than average 20 year old and will never have to worry about any insurance. And by the time you reach 25 or so you will be able to own your own home and still have plenty of money.

The balance you have to draw is between what you want to do and what your job will enable you to do. A boring job would be really hard to maintain, but if it pays super well, you can likely afford a lot more things you want to do. That said, I'd try to avoid a job you know or strongly feel will be boring and unsatisfying. I am a teacher and it doesn't pay great, but I love my job and it is never the same. I always get a chance to feel like I've done something worthwhile. That more than makes up for the money.
I know a lot of people who have high paying jobs they hate and they are not happy, while I know a number of people in lower paying jobs that are content. Not a hard decision in light of that.

You know, all jobs can be boring at times. If there is a distinct possibility there will be more excitement and advancement opportunities in the near future, I would take it. My job can be very exciting at times, and then there are other times, I am answering questions on here to make the day go by faster :) If you believe you will enjoy it later, then you should go for it, but if it all about the money and perks and you do not think you would ever enjoy it, then you shouldn't take it...you would be miserable. Part of success is doing something you enjoy. Hope this helps :)

I would take it!! I have been trying to get into the Federal Gvmt. for over 2 years now, and can't even get an interview!! There is practically any job you can think of in the government, so you can move around or jump agencies. How did you get in?!

That's 30 years of boredom. If you have debts to pay off (student loans) then take the job to do that only. In the meantime, do research on what you would like to do for a career. Save money for the months you need to search for that job. I made that mistake for working in a boring job, it made me boring. I became dependent on that boring job just to have something to do. What made it worse was watching my friends design a life for themselves as I became isolated in a field that was draining me.

It depends on your view of things a year from now. If you know that it will only be boring for a year and then turn out to be what you wanted, then do it.
If you aren't sure what is going to happen, then you might want to rethink. If anything, once you have your foot in the door it is usually easy to transfer.

You should take the job only if you want to.
If I was you I would only take the job, even if it was boring, if the job pays goods money.
