The most popular ways for a 12 year old to make money are of course babysitting, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, and paper routes in most communities.
But take it a step further. Offer to take your neighbor's dog for a walk every day, especially the elderly who have trouble getting around. Include a shampoo once a week for an extra 10 bucks. Offer to get their mail while they are away on vacation and feed their pets while they are gone. Bake cookies for shut-ins in their home, use their ingredients, usually twice a month is good. Offer to do their in between shopping trips for milk and eggs, etc.
Sell all occassion cards.
Check their basements for dead mice. (Set their traps too) Rake their leaves. Get cob webs off the porch or other high places they can no longer reach. Make a list of all these chores and drop it off at your local senior center with your phone number written on the bottom in those tear off strips. The seniors appreciate people willing to work.
When you babysit, offer to take them to the park on another day just to give the parents a needed break.
When you mow lawns, do the edging for extra. Clip the bushes. Pull weeds. Spread fertilizer. Water the lawn on a regular basis.
When you shovel snow, do the steps too and the driveway. Set up an agreement where you do it automatically every time it snows. And go before school and after just to make sure you are current.
In addition to paper routes some companies pay extra for those fliers to be delivered at the same time. If you have a bike, you can do two routes.
The idea is to 'go the extra mile'. You'll get more jobs than the other kids once the seniors know you're out to help them.

mowing lawns, newpaper route, pet walking or pet sitting. if you live in an apt complex, you might want to ask the maintenance people if you can pick up the litter around the property. what grade are you in? you may be able to tutor first graders on reading, writing and math. good luck and don't work more than 3 hours a day....you'll be burnt out by the time you are my age!!!!

Deliver news papers, raking the leaves in the fall, shoveling snowin the winter( I made a killing doing that stuff). Do you have like an uncle or something that owns a business or something? See if he will let you do some odds and ends stuff with him. Do you live near any corner stores? I used to work at on around that age. well, I hung around there so much that the owner let me do stuff like stocking and cleaning shelves, and stuff and I would get paid. Hope this helps!

babysit, mow lawns, rake leaves, gardening, do shopping for elderly neighbors, clean swimming pools, walk dogs, scoop poop, tutor younger kids in reading, open a lemonade stand, have a garage sale. Check with the local employment agencies to see if they have any listings for youth. Occasionally camps and other organizations are looking for youngsters to help out.

do gardening for people,
if you live near the grocery store, you can ride your bike to pick up groceries for the elderly people sho have trouble getting out of the house.
you can walk dogs,
lemonade stand (though this is kinda cheesy)
wash cars,
mowing,
clean houses for your family (extended_)
do errands on your bike for people
paper route
shovel snow in the winter
there are lots of things, sometimes if you start out volunteering you'll meet people who will want to pay you for things.

Clean yards, straighten garages up for people, go to the grocery store for older people, trim trees, clean pools, help someone plant a flower bed. You could make flyers and ahnd them out in your nieghborhood explaining that you're 12 and are trying to raise money and you will do odd jobs for them. Just make sure that you only help out people you know and that your parents know.
