especially on your toes you should definitely cut straight across so you don't get in-grown toenails. same should apply to fingers

If you're nails are weak and prone to splitting or flaking you should cut them in a straight line as doing them in a curve makes the problem worse.

Well if you cut straight across, the sharp edges will be snagged on fabric and what not, and then tear part of your nail away. I suggest having a smoothe curved nail. It will lessen the chance of your nails ending up looking like a 8 year old's.

A curved line encourages ingrowing nails, cut them straight and there shouldn't be a problem. It's your choice really.

You are meant to cut straight, but most people tend to cut them curved.

Cut straight across then file the edges into a curve. It helps disourages dysfunctional growth and they look nicer.

I think a curve makes them stronger and less easier to break. Think Roman Arch....it's the strongest structure. I would assume it's the same for nails. :)

sorry to say it but you shouldnt actually cut your fingernails at all you should just file them to keep them at a good length for you and then whatever stlye you like the best is fine to do

Finger nails anyway.Toe nails straight to avoid ingrown nails.
