I believe as long as you let it. It really depends on the couple and there beliefs, my husband and I could have left a time or two over our 9 yrs, but we have a child to think about. Your marriage is what you make as a couple, TRUST HONESTY LOVE COMMITMENT, people today put themselves first and seem to tend to forget about what life is supposed to be about and its not our selves for sure. We are here to do a job, remember we will all have to answer someday!!!!......back to your question of how long this day and time, well I have always heard that if a couple battles through those first two years then they have it made most of the time. Some just need to remember that LIFE IS A TEST, and you cant just run, that does not prove anything expecially to those that have children tangled in. You were in love to start with so its bound to be there!..........HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!.....hope my opinion doesnt bother anyone, for it is surely just my opinion.....

Not long enough.

Back in the day people really worked hard at making a lifelong commitment, and in today's society marriage and divorce seem to occur like making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Too bad children are usually involved.

Not long enough, indeed! There is a website that gives more statistics than I will ever care to read concerning marriage/divorce rates.

it depends on the people really,.

if you are the type of person who doesnt believe in divorce then it will last you a life time.

but if you are the type to pack up and run at the first sign of a problem the i give it two months.

also if you are a celebrity, 5 years tops.

seriously it depends on the couple.

i think it depends on the relationships and the reason for marriage! i know people who got married because she got pregnant. they owuld have never got married if she wasnt...and i have to say im surprised about the usa...people marry sooo young and get kids very very early! im almost 24 living in germany, but having my family overseas...and in germany its just normal to be 24 and not being married or having kids! but over there people are always surprised when i tell them im neither of that!i think sometimes people marry too early in their relationships... like just to marry if they know each other for just a few month! but i also know someone who got married after juat 7 or 8 months! and they have 2 kids and are very happy with their life...also know people who married because of the money, because they had to pay less taxes. i know i would just marry someone i love with all my heart
