The old proverb, "Familiarity breeds contempt" is true. The sheer newness of a place can make it appear much better in most peoples' eyes than a place where they have lived for some time. Yes, the neighbors would still agree that the grass is greener on the other side.

'The grass is always greener on the other side'- untill you get there!
If the neighbours swap places, the only help they would get was that they would stop yearning for things which seem pretty on the outside. Everyone has problems! You learn to cope up with it by living life and not by just walking out of it.

yes they would agree. no matter which perspective you take.
there is person A on side A
and Person B on Side B.
A likes B's Lawn
B LIkes A's lawn.
if they switch they have two options
liking the lawn which they originaly liked
OR
Liking the lawn which they do not have.
The second option is the more philosophical Option
The "Unattainable Goal"
but in both instances, they would agree with each other to either like their lawn
or think that the grass is "Always" Greener on the other side.

Here's the tricky part. What if the grass really IS greener on one side? Then one of them would be right, and one would be wrong. So then, if they switched, one would still think the grass is greener (the one who was originally on the greener side), and the other would say, nope, my side is greener now (the one originally on the brown side). I think it CAN be a state of mind, but it doesnt have to be.

No! they will not because most humans are conditioned to want what they can not have. Once they have they don't want it or appreciate it as they would if it belonged to someone else. Besides the grass is always greener on the other side...

Of course they would, due to the fact that it has been scientifically proven that 'the grass is always greener on the other side'. Or to be more correct, the nul hypothesis 'the grass isn't greener on the other side' was found to be fundamentally flawed.

Yes because human beings always want what they don't have. It seems that people are never happy.... They always want more and always want better...
On the other side no maybe because they will realise that what they had wasn't too bad. It's only when you lose it that you think you shouldn't have wished for something else.
Life is not black or white... depends on the person...
Are you happy with what you have? You will be when you're at peace with yourself!

You only see the grass you dont see the whole life of that person. The grass may be green but the soil may be dry.
Its your choice if you want to dig in that soil or not. The thing is you cant see it cuz its hinda under the grass.

Yes, because they are seeking to accommodate one another regardless of what the actual truth is. This is an excellent example of the sort of phony relationship that people enter into wherein they are too weak or shallow to tell others the truth for fear of offending them.
