I met a group of people and they kept calling this one guy Buff. He was big and I thought it was a compliment on his physique. Turns out Buff was short for Buffy. They all knew each other since they were kids and Buffy was some long evolved nickname that is now known as Buffy.

My wife has an uncle everybody calls *** and nobody knows why.

Any number of nicknames from the OSUMB. Tradition states as long as you're a rookie in the band, you have a rookie name, which could be retarded or completely offensive, along the lines of "SBJ" (stand-up ********) for a particularly short band memeber, or bloody vagina fart, just because it was the most offensive name they could think of at the time.

Handsome. I know it sounds cliche, but the reason this certain guy was given that name was because he was so ugly. His motto for this name, when asked, was "I'm so ugly, they call me Handsome". And now, 20 years later, we still call him Handsome.

Just as a little note; his tongue was so long he would slobber cause he would try to hold it in when he talked.
