If it is a true story, then how do the movie producers know exactly what happened to the individual person that is missing. For example, how does the producers know that one of the person get hurt in a specific area like the right hand or left leg or something else.

Great movie and yes I do believe it stated that at either the end of the begining of the movie - It was based on TRUE events.

It is based on true events, but some were made up because the victim was knocked out or not with the other victims when they were killed. So they had to speculate what happened.
