Absolutely not. It's how God made gay people, and God doesn't make junk.

It IS wrong to preach anti-gay discrimination, bigotry and hatred as some 'christians' do. This can lead to anti-gay violence and defamation.

Note that some people who quote bible verses tend to leave out the "judge not" part. . . They also probably do not ban women from their homes when they are "unclean," or follow some of the other bible sections about who to stone to death. They are selectively using only the sections they quote to fuel their hatred.

I wish the 'christians' who pursue this hollow, hate-filled campaign would chose love, tolerance, justice and understanding for a change. WWJD?

no its not wrong to be gay...if it was then why would god or what ever higher power you believe in make you that way? the only reason why people think being gay is wrong is because of what the "bible" says. the bible was written by man, and man is imperfect. god did not sit down and hand write the bible. man did. Yes some believe they where told what to write by god.. but how do we know if they were not just crazy and heard voices or if there interpretation of what god said is totally different then what was meant to be. We will never know. being gay is something you are born with..hatred and bigotry is something you learn.

Since other groups who have been discriminated against (such as women, blacks and the disabled) have been given equal opportunity, homosexuals claim that they, too, should be liberated. However, as one Christian expert has said...

"Gender, race and impairment all relate to what a person is, whereas homosexuality relates to what a person does."1

In contrast, homosexuals claim that scientific studies have shown that there is a biological basis for homosexuality.

Three main studies are cited by "gay rights" activists in support of their argument2óHamer's X-chromosome research,3 LeVay's study of the hypothalamus,4 and Bailey and Pillard's study of identical twins who were homosexuals.5

In all three cases, the researchers had a vested interest in obtaining a certain outcome because they were homosexuals themselves. More importantly, their studies did not stand up to scientific scrutiny by other researchers. Also, "the media typically do not explain the methodological flaws in these studies, and they typically oversimplify the results".6 There is no reliable evidence to date that homosexual behavior is determined by a person's genes.

To the extent that biological or social factors may contribute to a person's bent toward homosexual behavior, this does not excuse it. Some people have a strong bent towards stealing or abuse of alcohol, but they still choose to engage or not engage in this behavioróthe law rightly holds them accountable.

The final report of the Baptist Union of Western Australia (BUWA) Task Force on Human Sexuality states 'that a person becomes a homosexual ultimately by choosing to be involved in same-sex activity... This is in contrast to innate characteristics such as gender and ethnicity.'7 The report affirms that 'the Bible is clear that sin involves choice, and it unequivocally condemns homosexual behavior as sin'.7

The foundational teaching on marriage and sexual issues is found in Genesis chapters 1 and 2. When Jesus was questioned about marriage, He referred to these 2 chapters (Matthew 19:1-12; Mark 10:1-12). Genesis teaches us that 'male and female He created them' (Genesis 1:27). We were created to a planómale and female complementing each other. That is, God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, nor Madam and Eve.

Genesis also teaches that God instituted and designed marriage between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:18-25). There are a number of reasons why He did so.

The complementary structure of the male and female anatomy is obviously designed for the normal husband-wife relationships. Clearly, design in human biology supports heterosexuality and contradicts homosexuality.

The combination of male and female enables man (and the animals) to produce and nurture offspring as commanded in Genesis 1:28ó'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth'. This command is repeated to Noah after the Flood (Genesis 8:15-17). But procreation is not the only reason God made humans as sexual beings. The BUWA report affirms 'that sexual intimacy between husband and wife is good, and is intended by God for bonding, pleasure and procreation.'7

Thirdly, God gave man and woman complementary roles in order to strengthen the family unit. Woman was to be the helper that man needed (Genesis 2:18). However, the woman's role as the helpmate is certainly not an inferior one. The enterprising God-fearing woman in Proverbs 31:10-31 is an inspiring role model.

according to morons like Shayna, it is. but don't listen to that Bible-thumping crap. people like that have nothing better to do than pass judgment on others...it makes them feel superior, I guess.
God created us all and He doesn't create junk. He made me the way I am. I was born this way....I was not "influenced" by anyone or anything growing up. I never even met anyone openly gay until well after I realized I was.
Judge not, lest ye be judged. don't listen to Shayna and her "friends." hatred is neither a family value nor a Christian value.

Well -- what you think is always your choice. However, it is clearly natural. We know that not only due to the fruit-fly study (links below) but due to careful study of many animal species (for details read Dr. Bruce Bagemihl; "Biological Exuberance;" St. Martin's Press). Animals certainly do not make a choice to be gay -- and since we can manipulate fruit-flies from generation to generation, making them gay or straight as we see fit -- which also points to it not being voluntary -- I assert that it is natural.

So, either God deliberately creates people in such a way that he will hate them -- or he doesn't hate them. There really aren't any other rational choices.

Those who claim that God does hate them, and that homosexuality is "wrong" do it on the basis of the Bible. However, it becomes clear quickly that they do not know much about the Bible.

The Bible says that the world has corners (Isaiah 11:12) and that it sets on pillars (I Samuel 2:8). It says that God accepted a human sacrifice -- he may have prevented Isaacs, but he allowed a general to sacrifice his own daughter without even a murmur, the text giving tacit support to the idea that having given his word, the man had to kill his child. (Judges 11:30-39). It clearly maintains that genocide is often commanded by God (Joshua 10:40-42 and I Samuel 15: 2, 3 and 8) and that, after killing all the adults in a race, taking the female children as sex slaves is permissible (Numbers 31: 17-18).

The God revealed by the Bible is not only both a liar who doesn't know the natural laws of his own world, and a monster, as shown above -- but he has no real regard, even for his own people, whom he forces into cannibalism (Leviticus 26: 27-29) when he is mad at them; or his priests, whose faces he wipes with dung (Malachi 2:1-3).

It is not only gays and lesbians that are hated by bible-god. This monstrosity also suggests killing kids who eat or drink too much (Deuteronomy 21: 18-21), and if he is angry with parents he will kill their children (Leviticus 26:22) and blame things upon children whose great-great-great grandfather committed the things being blamed on the kids (Exodus 20: 5)

Putting it in a word, bible-god is a monstrosity, a horrific demiurge of evil. Something that even he admits ( Isaiah 45:7 ) [Furthermore, the word used in Hebrew for evil, the word ra' is widely conceded to mean a number of different things: It can mean "wickedness," "mischief," "bad," "trouble," "hurt," "sore," "affliction," "ill," "adversity," "harm," "grievous," and "sad." So no matter what particular interpretation is given of this word -- it has profoundly negative implications. The idea that god is sovereign over the affairs of man makes this even worse, because no matter what interpretation it has, it indicates that bible-god deliberately does harm.]; evil about which he sometimes changes his mind (Exodus 32:14). What a font of unchanging morality -- that almighty God can decide to kill an entire people, and then be talked out of it by a human servant... Furthermore, it is obvious, if God can change his mind, then even if the Bible were not full of errors and horrors, you could not trust that God had not changed his mind on any other issue in it.

So, yes, I suppose if one wants to take as truth a book that says that beetles have four legs instead of six (Leviticus 11: 21-23) and that rabbits chew their cud [which they do NOT] (Deuteronomy 14:7) and if you are willing to, having accepted it as truth, overlook the fact that bible-god routinely changed his mind (I can show you other instances if you wish) then yeah, I suppose its words would matter. But the reality is that Christianity historically had nothing to do with the Bible -- Christianity existed nearly 400 years before the precursor to the modern western canon was even established. There are no autographs (originals) of the Bible, and the thousands of fragments that we do have disagree with one another in over 200,000 places (Dr. Bart Erhman; "Misquoting Jesus;" Harper), so there is no way that our translations say anywhere near what the originals -- if they ever existed in uncontested format -- said.

We end up accepting either that homosexuality is normal and natural and that God, being a God of love accepts and loves His gay children as much as his straight children; or, we end up accepting that a book with hundreds of provable errors is verbally inspired, and that God hates part of his own creation.

I believe that there is nothing wrong with being gay, and that those who say otherwise are unfortunately misled.

Interestingly enough, one of the bible passages most commonly cited by gay haters is the one about Lot. Yes, that's right: Lot, the same guy who offered both of his virgin daughters to be gang-raped and whose same daughters later tricked him into sleeping with them (oh, the power of booze) and became pregnant with his children. I can see the morality in that... NOT!

You decide. Here are the facts!
What the Bible says about sexual sins:
"...The body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body."1 Corinthians 6:13 "Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."1 Corinthians 6:18-20 "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."1 Corinthians 7:8-9 (NIV) "But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin -- this man also does the right thing."1 Corinthians 7:37 (NIV) "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it."1 Corinthians 10:13 "These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb."Revelation 14:4 "Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge."Hebrews 13:4 "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."Hebrews 4:15-16 "For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted."Hebrews 2:18 "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!"1 Corinthians 6:15 "Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."James 1:12 "Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment."2 Peter 2:9

yes it is wrong. Many people think they can get away doing what they want. Nobody wants to believe in God because then they would have to be accountable for their actions. People just want to live like animals and it's sad.
