Ok, my screen is blurry. How do I make the text sharper? I know there's a way, I just forget. I have to have the text sizes really big otherwise it begins to give me a headache with how blurry it is. It isn't my monitor, it's only like 2 years old and it's from Dell. I'm not buying a new one, so please don't suggest it.

Hmm, no I don't need eyeglasses, I just had a physical which included eye tests because it was for my driver's lisence. And no, I don't need to clean my monitor... I'm not dirty and I clean it often.

Setting for XP windows.

1) right click your desktop > properties > appearance > effects > under 'use following.......to smooth edges of screen font' change the drop down menu to 'clear type'.

2) click 'View' in the main menu > text size > Largest

3) Screen resolution
right click on desktop 'properties' > settings > drag the screen resolution bar to 600 x 800.

Update the video driver for the monitor. It may just be that there was a glich in your current driver and went to a backup driver. Really easy, get into control panel, system, hardware ad/remove and when it says no new harware found click on your monitor and then update driver. Also you can go to dell web site and see if they have any new driver out for your monitor.

I am thinking that you should adjust the contrast setting of your monitor. If it is not your monitor, then I have no idea what the problem is. A computer is made to automatically adjust to the monitor that it is hooked to. Try adjusting the pixel quality and the screen resolution as well.

How large do you have your text set for? You may experiment with adjusting the size of your appearance in your control panel.
