I think personality is just generally what a person's like- if they're funny or smart or ambitious, etc. Character would be more like the person's moral center. If someone is said to have strong character, you can generally surmise that they are morally upstanding, at least in that person's opinion. Honesty, dependability, responsibility, humility, patience, fortitude and kindness would be examples of things that would contribute to someone saying that a person has a lot of character.

I think personality is how you present yourself to people, whether you're funny or shy. Character is more towards a person's morals and integrity. That's what I think of whenever I hear those two words.

Personality is what shows. It is what others see, how you interact with them, etc.......Character is the strength one has to stick to their principles, what they do when no one is looking.
In other words:::::Personality is how you smile and say HI
Character is when someone ahead of you walking drops a dollar, do you chase them down and give it to them.
