My friend and I are doing a triathlon on Saturday and she just came down with a cold. Is there any thing she can do to kick the cold before the race (or at least fight it off as much as possible)?

drink lots of water, take meds like decongestants(side effect is drowsiness though) and take ascorbic acid(vitamin C)... otherwise, rest is all you can do...

Load up on vitamin C. Take it every couple of hours as it disappears from the body quickly. Also, get some frozen grapefruit juice concentrate, mix it at double strength and drink it hot like coffee a couple of times. Works for me every time.

Have vitamin C. Also the best thing to do to kick the cold out is to... RACE!!! it will make you feel great just to be able to race and it will boost the metabolism to get rid of the cold. Tellyour friend to do her best to suck it up and get out there and race. if she doesn't feel better before the race, i garantee she will afterward.
