His administration has been caught lying several times, from 9-11 to Iraq. Our economy isn't doing so great. Gas prices are at an all time high, but oil companies are making the largest profits ever. His rhetoric sounds all the same. I'm just trying to make sense of it.

10 lies
1.The invasion of Iraq was based on intelligence that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and posed a threat to the U.S.
2.Saddam tried to buy uranium in Niger.
3. The aluminum tubes were proof of a nuclear program.
4. Saddam was involved with bin Laden and al Qaeda in the plotting of 9/11.
5. The United States is waging a war on terror. (Lie, we only wage wars on terror we don't support.)
6. The Bush administration has made Americans safer from terror on U.S. soil.
7. The Bush administration has nothing to hide concerning the events of September 11, 2001. (Yet, all evidence was destroyed immediatly after, and they have not conducted a COMPLETE investigation.)
8. The U.S. is obeying the Geneva conventions in its treatment of terror-related suspects, prisoners, and detainees.
9. The U.S. defeated the Taliban in Af.
10. Bush: "God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did..."

1. They didn't lie about Iraq or 9/11. Really. Check a valid news source.
2. The economy is doing great. Really. Any valid economic news source would put you right.
3. Gas prices are high because of the increased worldwide demand. If prices are higher, that means increased revenue on same quantity sales. Follow? Increased revenue usually translates into more profits. And because they are selling more gas at higher prices, their revenues are at all time highs. So are their taxes. Did you know, did any of your liberal friends tell you that Exxon paid nearly $100 billion in taxes last year on $340 billion in sales, with a profit of about $36 billion? This 11% profit margin is pretty good, but hardly considered excessive by any economics standard.
4. As for rhetoric, all politicians sound the same. All speeches are written for effect. It's not just any one politician or any particular party. I tend to not listen to speeches, but read the text of the speech the next day on the web.
5. You really need to develop solid news sources so you won't be duped by people who want to manipulate you. Avoid newsmedia where they don't give you the facts, but decide to 'interpret' the news for you. For info on Iraq, to go the United Nations website - they have a ton of documents and material. For 9/11, the 9/11 commission report is available on the web. For economics, use a combo of Wall Street Journal (only their editorial pages are conservative, trust me), and online economics journals.

Because Bush took a stance against immigrants, the gay community, and muslims (a.k.a. terrorism). These are key issues for the bigots in our country, who are evidently in a slim majority, or at least close enough to fudge an election. He also did a solid job of convincing these people that to be both a Christian and a Patriot meant defending his poor ideas to the teeth, by telling them that God had chosen him as president (He must have, because the people certainly didn't). Unfortunately, all the rhetoric from both sides sounds the same. Bush's detractors constantly refer to the economy, gas prices, the war, his deceit; all valid issues, but to people who didn't listen the first time, it's the same noise. If the three spirits of Christmas visited the President and caused a change of heart, inspiring him to unprecedented honesty, these die hards still wouldn't believe it.

This is a loaded and wholly biased question it exposes a total lack of understanding of history or even the relevant facts. You presupposed things to be true about the administration that even a half-hearted attempt at research would expose as false. You point to problems not of the presidents making and blame him for them.
For example, gas prices are because:
1. we haven't opened new areas for drilling in many years.
2. There has not been a new refinery built in this country in more than 30 years and your precious democrats have been in charge for 40 yrs prior to that.

Because they are too embarassed to admit they too were wrong!!! I'll take Bill getting head by some chick which was NOT my business to begin with, over Bush's B.S. which IS my business anyday!!!! This is why hipocracy rules our Government today! Bill may have lied to begin with but Bush has yet to be honest with the American people and I am way beyond his hiding behind his religion/faith/beliefs?! I say he is a dry drunk on a self-will run riot! Scared yet??? Only we as THE people can change this so pray for God's will, Get honest with yourselves, and take action now!

Thew economy is growing. However, it's "not growing as fast as it should" according to moonbat liberals - never mind that it is growing in the face of a WAR TO THE DEATH by religious jerkoffs. And WMDs are easy to create (like the Aum Shinrikyu cult did in the Japan subways), but hard to deliver, and wouldn't you know it... WMD bio-artillery shells WERE FOUND in Iraq. Gas Prices are high because we pay Arabs for it and ... Arabs supply it all, but... drill for oil in Alaska? NO WAY!
Everyone is worried about a police state. Ask these people, "Will you get your own handgun?" and they say "NO, I would call the police to protect me..." So, do you WANT a police state or not? Make up your minds...

Because...
1. The Dem's are not doing a whole lot better.
2. Because people have NO faith in there political leaders.
3. People have become apathetic, as an example check out levels of voter turn out.
Sad, yes. Surprising, not so much. Give Americans a better candidate and they will care.

Our economy isn't as bad as you think. And, economy is cyclical -- it's not necessarily related to a certain administration. I'm curious as to what lies you refer. You might not like or believe what you are hearing, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

I friend of mine, really wanted to vote for kerry back in 2004 but she couldn't because of religious views. Her religious views said no to abortion and no to gay marriage so she couldn't bring herself to vote for kerry even though she wanted to. Some people sweat the small stuff too much
