rich doesn't mean you have class or know what is in style. Some people have their own style.
Do you feel poor in your clothes? Well, wealthy people might not have the need to dress in expensive clothes, they might be more comfortable dressing like the average joe.
Lastly, Maybe they are rich because they didn't spend all their money on clothes. There is a good book on "living the simple life" where people make the choice to live in a house that just suites hier needs, not their wants... it goes on to talk about being happy with what you have. The point of the book is taht these people retired at age 40 or so... becuse they didn't squander their money on things they really didn't need.

No, you are not horrible. I've had these kinds of friends, and I've never been able to really get past it. Financial differences can be really hard on a friendship. You really have to tell them for them to at least understand and keep it to themselves at times. For instance, I graduated from HS in May. Now, I can't afford college right now, and it's caused me more stress and pain than just about anything. Yet, I have a few friends who not only sent out a million applications, they went on cross-country tours during the summer to see all the schools and their complaining kills me. One is unhappy because, Oh No, she can't have the condo she wants, she might have to live in a dorm. One is unhappy because she does have the condo, just not a new car. Me? I'm mad at them because I can't sleep I'm so stressed and their biggest concern is where they want to go, drive, and live. I just want to go. It's really hard to deal with, I understand. I tend to keep my distance from peers that are super rich, because honestly, I don't need the extra stress and downers everyday over the phone or in the mall.

Maybe they dress that way because they are comfortable. I don't care how much money I get, it will always be and has always been T shirt and jeans. I'm not going to walk around in an expensive suit just because I'm rich.

Because they are secure about themselves. They can dress any way they want. But just because they dress poor doesn't mean that their clothes came from Wal Mart. They probably paid $100 for their t shirt alone.

I've wondered that myself. I've seen some of the wealthiest people(celebrities, millionaries, company presidents, etc) walk around look like near-homeless people. I've come to the conclusion that perhaps they don't want to be haughty and shamelessly flaunt their wealth, they're comfortable in slacks and a checkered shirt. Or maybe they were just having a bad "clothing" day.

Because they're secure with themselves and don't have the need to impress others by flaunting their material wealth. Sam Walton was a prime example.

just because they are rich doesnt mean that they cant wear just comfortable clothing like sweats like everyday people. they are still people even though they are rich.

To draw less attention to themselves. Believe it or not, they want to be liked and loved just like everyone else for who they are not how much money they have.
