I did a comparison and don't see any difference. They are two different brands of spray paint and was wondering if it is just another way of labeling?

There is (in my opinion) a huge difference.

Satin is like satin sheets. flat with a bit of shine.

Semi-gloss .. in the right light.. is super shiny - can even look wet or whatever .. hard to explain.

Go to your local paint store.. ask them to see a sample sheet.. they'll show ya :)

Hold it up to the light and move it in all directions.

I would think they'd even let ya take it home. Colors at home look totally different than at the store.. sheens and colors themselves.

Ask them about scrubability too. Almost all paints.. flat to super dooper gloss.. can be washable.. just have to ask.

Usually the satin is slightly less glossy. At least that has been my experience with spray polyurethane. It could be that two different manufactures label their products differently (one as a satin and one as a semi-gloss) but the products don't differ much in sheen.

Satin paints have a duller sheen. Semi-gloss are, as the name implies, more glossy. Yes, there is a BIG difference.

There is one more you need to know about. It is eggshell and makes a very nice finish for interior woodwork. It really hides imperfections in the wood.
