Bill Clinton never received a majority of the popular vote. That means that in the only poll that counts (the one in November) he never had a 50% approval rating. What is so great about that?

I don't care what Bush's numbers are or were. I am talking about Clinton.

Because this seems to be a problem that more than one of you has had. The definition of a majority is a number or percentage equaling more than half of a total. (Merriam-Webster) I did not make this up, it is the definition of the word if you do not believe me look it up.

Also, I put no stock in any poll taken by a news organization or anyone else. There are way too many unaccounted for variables. Pollsters have been wrong way too often. Nobody can dispute how the electorate feels when they cast a vote in favor of someone.

In 1992, Clinton had two opponents, Bush and Perot. He received 43% of the popular vote (Bush had 37.4%). Clinton ran against two opponents in 1996, Dole and Perot. He received 49.2% of the popular vote (Dole had 40.7%). If your point was to prove that the majority of the popular vote did not want Clinton, you are wrong. 50% does not equal majority, highest percentage of voters does. As an aside, in 2000, Al Gore received 48.4% of the popular vote while Bush only 47.9%.
Thank you for correcting me via email, as it shows that Bush didn't receive the majority of the popular vote in 2000, either. What is so great about that? Oh, yeah. We're talking Clinton, here (even though the exact same thing can be said for Bush).

You are muddling 2 separate points here.
1) he DID receive a majority of the popular vote OVER THE OTHER OPPONENTS "Clinton won the 1992 presidential election (43.01% of the vote) against Republican George H. W. Bush (37.4% of the vote) and billionaire populist H. Ross Perot who ran as an independent (18.9% of the vote)", and
2) He DID have an approval rating of upwards of 65% through the majority of the last 6 years he spent in office.
"Clinton remained popular with the public throughout his two terms as President, ending his presidential career with a 65% approval rating, the highest end-of-term approval rating of any President in the post-Eisenhower era."

So both of your points are equally uninformed and misleading. What is so great about THAT?

Where are your stats? Where is your morals?

By the way, Clinton left office with higher approval ratings than Bush has now. And that's a REAL Fact!

yes but you are misleading the people. this was becasue in the 92 election ross perot received 20-25 percent of the vote. he also received 5 -8 percent in the 96 election (perot). ross perot was such an effective third party candidate compared to raplh nader who only receive 1-3 percent in 2000 and in 2004 barely got 1 percent. perot probably inspired nader to run becasue of this. also dole got beat bad in the electoral college it wasnt close.

Nice, fluffy brains. Never did like those "New York" and "Washington" intellectuals with their "lower deficits" and high approval ratings.

I'm just gonna paint me some fluffy clouds and kill myself with drugs, like a good Republican, like Rush...

Who said it was great? The liberal media like Rush, O`Reilly, Coulter, Hannity, etc...? Why don`t you care about Bush`s numbers, because you choose to remain ignorant.

Can't we leave Bill alone? Hillary has. She didn't even vote for him.

Edit: Don't forget boys and girls, we have two years left.
