cont'd - and now my front end is out of line. When I hold the steering wheel straight, it pulls right. This did not happen before these parts were replaced. Any ideas as to why this happened?

Any one can replace parts and have them installed correctly. The thing is you need to have an alignment anytime you disturb the front end by disassembling it and replacing parts.

What it sounds like is that you need a front-end alignment done to keep it from doing it. The reason it pulls right is because the upper control front suspension assembly and right outer tirod on the passenger was not replaced correctly or it was put there haphazardly. What you need to do is go back to the place you had replace those parts and explain to them the problem and get it fixed.

For future reference, I would take it to a car dealer that is well known to get repairs done because if you don't, you might end up getting cheated out of your money that way.

The following reasons play role in drifting in one side. Check one by one these reasons and eliminate the insignificant ones to reach to the root cause,

1. Front wheels un-balanced.
2. Front Wheel Mis-alignment.
3. Worn/Bald tires.
4. Engine Mounting Bushes worn/damage (this is a common reason which doesn't allow true alignment of the vehicle---you may think that the vehicle has benn aligned but in fact it is not so).
4. Right Side Shock Absorber bent/damaged.
5. Inner Ball Joints-excesssive play. Hold the Rack & Pinion assembly and apply axial load on the joints. It should not move axially.
6. Stablizer Bar Bushings damaged.

Nothing else....Good Luck!

maximum autos so no longer require the administration arm to get replaced even as servicing ball joints. in spite of the indisputable fact that, there are some exceptions, like Ford products have intregral ball joints as area of the better administration palms. also, it truly is counseled on some Chrysler products that the administration arm get replaced as an assembly because the ball joint ought to break free the administration arm if no longer authentic put in or if administration arm textile is bumped off even as the former ball joint is taken out. There are others, i'm positive... yet with out the make and sort of the motorized vehicle...

When you replace front end parts such as ball joints and tie rods you should always get the front-end lined up.
Take it to a garage before you wear your tires out enough so that than you have to replace them, once they start wearing they will continue
