This seems like an inappropriate one to select a "winner" on. Thanks to all for your information, and peace to you and to the lost and to the heros of the New York Fire and Police Departments, may they rest in peace and honored forever in our memories.

News on TV.

I was in the convenience store where I worked at the time--I can't remember what I was doing there that morning--when I heard some of my co-workers talking about it. Of course, the information was garbled and somewhat inaccurate because it had only just happened a couple of hours earlier, and even the news agencies hadn't processed it yet--someone even said a plane had flown into the White House, which obviously wasn't the case.

My first reaction was to discount it as a media hoax--generally a natural reaction, of course--but when I was persuaded something actually had happened, I went home and turned on the news for a clearer picture. I then called my parents--they don't live in New York; that's just the first thing that came to my mind to do.

My TV is used as an alarm clock ... my TV turned on I got up thinking "What's this crazy movie" ... showered, then while brushing my teeth, It kinda hit that what I was watching wasn't a movie when the second plane hit the second tower ... but I was late, so I rushed out the door ... while driving, the radio was covering it, and I couldn't understand why I was driving to work but I kept driving ... then at work when everyone kept watching it over and over, it hit and I went numb.

I think it took at least 2 days for me to acknowledge that it happened ... I was rollerblading at midnight, and no planes were flying because of the "No Fly" on the USA ... then a military plane zoomed overhead, and I freaked ... we just rollerbladed around aware of the gravity of the situation.

I sometimes have a hard time admiting it happened still.

I was in college at Purdue Univ. at the time and I would have never seen it live, cause I would have been asleep any other time. But that morning I had a job interview and I was sitting there filling out paperwork for this job and the ladies in the office were watching TV and it came on. I sat there with them and watched it all happen live. It was prob the craziest thing I have ever witness unfold live on TV, no one knew what was going on, even the TV News media was confused as to what we were seeing happen. Then one fell, then the other fell. I went home and told my roommate, who was just getting up at about noon. We sat around and watched Fox News for like 2 days straight.

saw it out my office window. (i worked two blocks away)... I heard the explosion before I looked out and knew it was terrorism right away, before the second plane even hit... (who's engine landed on my street corner)

Didn't react at all like i thought i would have. It was so surreal I just kind of watched, detached... I kind of regret not being a hero, but then, I also wouldn't be here to talk about it.

called my roomates and friends to see if they were ok, most of them were.

after i walked several miles back to brooklyn, i drank a bottle of scotch and passed out till the next day

i can't watch any of the footage without nervous tension and i certainly won't watch that terrible movie, i can't stand that people are profiting off of it... and I blame 9/11 for my smoking habit, because i figured I had breathed in enough people and building and jet fuel to justify smoking a whole pack on my walk back to brooklyn, (and haven't quit since

it sucked

Listening to the radio. We had been having some sort of seminar at our workplace so there was a television in the conference room. I ran in there and saw the first pictures. I was in shock. I kept checking in periodically. When the first tower fell then I felt fear. Later that day I felt relief. I guess Kansas wasn't very high on Osama's terror list.

Oh I will never forget that day. I was online when my phone rang it was my daughter telling me to switch on the tv. I was off work sick and had started some new medication at first I thought I was hallucinating when I saw what was going on......that was all that was on the tv that day........and the day after............I almost lost 2 very good friends who both worked in the towers. Thankfully they were out of the office that day......but it was several days before I was able to track them down.

I was in my office only half listening to my little tv when I heard about the first plane. I went closer to the tv so I could understand and the building blew - so I saw it pretty much as it happened. It was an incredible feeling of disbelief and horror. I cried.

I was at school. As I walked into my AP English class I notived my friend looking up at the tv. "What movie are you watching?", I asked. I saw the towers on the screen and thought that since we had a sub that we were going to watch a film. I was really shocked when I realized that it was real. It was horrible to say the least.

I heard about it in History class, the professor had just come back from getting some coffee and he thought it might be a joke, but he let the class leave early to see it for ourselves.
It just seemed so sureal i didn't really react. I called my parents and remember thinking it was really wierd to have no reaction.

I was in office and I first heard that a plane crashed into WTC. Seconds later someone shouted missile attacks everywhere on US.
Minutes later a video of the planes crashing came on online news. It was terrifying. Only couple hours later we got somewhat clear picture.
