why is it that strange acting, goofy people tend to have a lot of Friends?

B/c they are more outgoing and certain with themselves. If your shy and quiet, you won't make many friends, but if you are outgoing, pleasant, polite and meet a lot of people, most likely you'll have plenty of friends. And if you give those 'goofy' people a chance, you would probably like them too.

I think people are attracted to people with confidence, and someone who acts "strange" or "goofy" is probably fairly high in confidence, because they're obviously not worried about what other people think about them and are comfortable in their own skin. (Example....Kramer on Seinfeld!)
