Cub fans are the most dedicated loyal baseball fans ever...becasue there isnt such a thing as a far weather fan. I still dont know how the sox hats suddenly came into style last october, i had never seen that many before in my life. So a question to everyone who bleeds cubbie blue: What's the best part of being a cub fan and what keeps you hanging in there?

I am 13 years old and I love the Cubs because they are a more fun organization and they aren't gay like the White Sox. Also, you can always look forward to next year.

If there isn't such a thing as a fair weather fan, where are all those new sox hats coming from?
I've been with the sox for years and one thing I know for sure, they didn't just spontaneously appear. They are all converted cubbies.
So that should tell you how loyal cubs fans are. The ones that did'nt convert are still too dep in an oldstyle-induced drunken haze at wrigley to perceive how much the cubs suck.

"what keeps you hanging in there" The 'feeling' that it can't always be so bad. That there is a karmic balance in life. You tell yourself, "They sucked so bad last season, it can't be that bad this season!" Or, "They acquired 3 great players, Kerry Wood is healthy (HRMPH), and the have the drive this year, they can do it." I think there are no greater optimists than Cubs fans.
Of course, it also helps that no matter where you are in the country, WGN is usually available. It's like hanging out with an old friend, even if you are in Santa Fe, San Diego, Portland, or smalltown USA. And you want that old friend to do well.

Not sure, hubby is a die hard cubs fan and daughter and i love the South Side favs the White sox! Our house is divided on that one!
