I would advise you to go for the Bachelor's Degree, in the end you get a better job with one. Also look for a college that is accredited and which will prepare you to get certified as an interior designer. There is alot more to interior design than just personal style. You have to learn about all the factors that surround the design, such as electrical work, maybe plumbing, some carpentry etc. I am also interested in this career and I have done some research on it for my own benefit. I hope this helps you!

Though a piece of paper is the norm for most things, you would do better to get experience within an organization and possibly intern in your field of study. No matter what you learn, understand that each company, or organization will have its own set of standards and practices. Of course start with an associates degree (like you have a choice.) However, if you plan to go independent, you will need a bachelors degree. Remember though it will in the end be your deeds that make your career and not your paper.

Your right. Associates 'degrees' dont go far enough.

Get a Bachelors degree first of all. You will thank yourself when you get your B.A. designation. It will give you a jump ahead of the others with associate degrees. How many good paying jobs are held by someone with an associates degree? Not as many as those with bachelors degrees.

Associates degree definitely, interior design is mostly based on experience & personal style, rather than formal education.

bachelors these days don't mean sh*t, so an associates would amount to even less than that. I agree with the first response but keep in mind, the more education you have the more likely you appear to have knowledge about designing. i'd say go with the bachelors but make sur eyou get an internship or related job while you're in school also. that should benefit you greatly.

#a million, you do not must have an pals to proceed to get a Bachelors. In community college, you could enter this technique to artwork for an pals. in case you probably did not go into that application, you're purely taking classes for the credit. #2, if i'd were you, concentration on the midsection classes even as in CC. Take your Englishes, and Maths, and such. those ought to move fantastically elementary. and also you're actual maximum perfect. they are more low-cost.
