I'm not going to say eliminate hunger or poverty, educate the masses or cure disease. All that is too big. Today i made a difference to the world in the following.
I smiled at a passerby, i helped someone with a heavy load, i reminded someone feeling down that they are actually loved, i encouraged a disrespected friend that she too has dignity and a right to happiness, i answered questions here in the hope that i might help others.
And nicely-i took my dogs for a long walk this evening.
Now, all this may seem mundane but let me explain. THE world is too big a place to change on our own but each person we touch, each soul we encounter is a world entirely which we change. I gave up trying to change the world we ALL live in, now i just try and help change for the better the worlds that others around me live in.
If i can do this, in my humble little way i can begin to help make the WHOLE world a better place.
By the way-re your other last question, make your boyfriend pay for dates worth at least twice what sex would cost him on the street. I may be a good person but i'm also mischievous in a righteous sorta way. Hehehe.
Now you go out there and make the world, all the worlds you meet and your own world a better place. Good luck.

Your question assumes that a single person can't make a difference in the world, and that just isn't true. You make a difference in your world by being thoughtful and kind to others. You make a difference in your world when you try to be the best person you can be now and when you try to become the best person you could be. You make a difference when you as an individual stand up with other individuals and express your discontent with the world as it is, your desire for it to be better, and your ideas as to how it could be made a better place. A single person can seem small and insignificant, but it only takes one person to make a difference. When each of us decides that we will be that person, then the world really will change.

Just reading these posts and wondering. If the majority of people want peace, love, and an end to starvation - then why is the world going to pieces? Is it because the worlds leaders are still "old school" corrupt politicians and we need some young, enthusiastic, and innovative people to lead us? Or is it that the majority of people are money hungry, greed driven, egotistical maniacs who never spend time on answers.yahoo.com?

Any one that harms a child in any way ,dies. anyone convicted of a sex crime, dies. judges would answer to a panel of 12 for the decisions they make when it involves letting people out of prisons. Maybe then they would think a little before they let people out. To do crimes again, to harm people again, commit sex crimes again, kill again. i am so tired of it,on the news every night. Make the punishment fit the crime. These judges would rather put some kid in jail for 25 years for smoking pot, and give some child raper 3 years, what the H is that if not total bull s--t.

I am making a difference by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus and only Jesus is Lord, and only the blood of Jesus saves. The world is dying and cannot be saved, but the people in the world can be saved, one at a time, if they will just receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Niceness. I try to make the world a better place by being nice to everyone I meet. There are a lot of people who aren't nice.

I'd stop trying to make any difference then. Life is such an immense experience...so keenly built by the creator. Why try to maky any difference once you have seen the real landscape!

Either create a one world unified religion, or eliminate religion altogether. Then we may have a chance at world peace
