Support a team, you can identify with, in terms of playing style, history and your current favourite players.

Do not choose one that simply symbolises your religion, whether it is Celtic or Ah-Aly.

I would recommend that since you are new, support a promoted team that is playing in the Prem for the first time, Reading FC.

I am a Celtic supporter and most of the supporters are Catholics (but let's be clear about one thing, they aren't angels at all if you hear what they spit out in the Jungle).

Anyway, if you mean in the EPL, none really. Liverpool started off as did Man Utd, I believe, as Celtic has strong ties to Utd., as pseudo Catholic entities. Unlike in Scotland where sectarianism is a carryover from Ulster (+ the Scottish and Irish immigrants who are in that mix in both countries), religion plays almost no role at all in modern-day soccer in the EPL for a century now.

Honestly, support a team because they play attacking football. That's why I support Celtic and I'm not Catholic or any religion at all.

Spend about half a season watching all (or most) teams in the premier league so you have an idea of how each team play etc. then I guess the team that attracts you most is the team you go for. Please don't go for the typical Manchester United, you most likely will be labeled as a glory hunter. I support Chelsea, btw don't base your decision on fans, every club has a small amount of horrible fans. Good luck and hope you pick a team you'll enjoy watching!

In the english premier league Liverpool have strong catholic ties. The fans often sing catholic songs.

In Scotland Glasgow Celtic have even stronger Catholic ties.

Surely this shouldn't be your reason for picking a team, Religion. There are plenty of decent teams in our league but all i would say to you that if you don't chose one of the top 4 teams (Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal) prepare yourself for year after year of disappointment I'm an Aston Villa fan and i know all about it.

nope. go for the Scottish league. Celtic is a catholic-supported team and arguably the best team in the league, although the other best team in the league, the protestant supported Rangers might have think they are the best. hey its on the same island as the premier league right? besides, it is a great rivalry and you'll always get to see them in uefa action
