I'm going to get them both at Petland so they will have been together for most of there life but there is one little problem. I already have one. Will they still know each other or will they have been separated too long? (I got this hamster a month and a half ago.) Oh and also they are both neutered. Would it be OK to have a boy and a girl?

Nope...This pet store neuters them when they get them. They have a couple in the back of the store that aren't neutered and they cost $25.50 (The neutered ones are $15.95)

Unless they are dwarf hamsters your best bet is to separate them.
It doesn't matter if it is a male/female pair, hamsters are solitairy animals and will fight once they reach maturity.
Better to be safe than sorry.

You can tell they're neutered because their butts are really big???I don't get it.. this "big butt" you are describing are the hamsters testicles..if he were neutered his "butt" wouldn't be big.Ok with that said..hamsters would much rather live alone..even if they grow up together most of the time when they reach sexual maturity they will get territorial and fight. These fights can get pretty brutal and bloody. If you get a male and a female you will have LOTS of babies..and you would have to take the male out because he would eat the babies..sometimes the own mother will actually eat her own babies. So yeah stick with one hamster.

Ifthey are both neutered a boy and a girl should be okay- believe me a pregnant hampster is not something you want to look forward to. About them knowing each other- I think it more depends on the hamsters temprament and the amount of space it has. We had a hamster that had babies, we got rid of all but one and the mom and daughter lived together in a large habitrail thing. After about a week after getting rid of the other hamsters , the mom started slapping the baby around, biting her, charging her- we wound up having to separate them- she was soooo mea n - and they knew each other1 I have seen other hamsters live happily together , but generally, I think they prefer being alone.

I've never heard of a pet store neutering hamster. In fact, I've never heard of a neutered hamster. Be on the safe side and seperate them.

How did you find a pet store that sells neutered hamsters? I think someone is lying to you.

If they are already neutered then a boy and a girl is the best combo, and even if they don't remember each other they should get along fine.

I don't believe hamsters can be nuetered unless you take them to a vet and it would probably cost you A LOT of money!!

depends on the breed.
the tiny one like roberoskies famaly groups are ok
but the larger seryans must be kept on there own once mature as they will fight.
i wouldn't put all three togher as they may fight.
