People, men and women, do what they need to do to survive. I cannot judge their motivation. Why do men look for trophy wives? I think the motivation is the same. It is too bad but that is the way the world revolves. It may not be love but respect and loyalty should be required.
Don't treat anyone like s...t but move on if you are being used and uncomfortable with the situation.
Women do look to be secure but it doesn't necessarily mean they are gold-diggers.

Women are human. They have feelings too. Even though some of them are Gold Diggers. You don't have to treat them as ****! but instead know, Why is she gold digging? If its because of the great necessity of life, then she can be forgiven, for she is only doing that out for survival. If she is doing it, because of her greedy Hand, then she deserves to be given One Hell of A Lesson, She will regret she exists in her chosen life.

They might try to argue " but you said YOU were taking me shopping "
then you say " I did TAKE you "
I f they dont buy the things they wanted . They are gold diggin and deserve to be taught a valuable lesson.
HOWEVER if this woman is right enough to buy her own things despite you not paying. You are going to have to kiss some serious *** before you lose a good woman . I mean DIAMONDS *** kissing.
