I find growth charts rather confusing and would like to hear your opinion. The last time her doctor said she's ok, but that's 3 weeks ago. I don't feel like going back there all the time lol.
Btw 6 pounds, 13 ounces when she was born.

She sounds great, and congrats on breastfeeding!!! As for the growth chart...ignore them, most of the charts used are based on a small group of formula-fed infants. Here is a link for a growth chart for breastfed infants, good luck and happy nursing. http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/growth/growthcharts.html

That sure is okay! That's really big! My baby was 9lb5oz when she was born and at 12 weeks she was 15lbs - but she is a FULL head taller than all the other babies she plays with, and she's almost 11 months now. I think you're doing just fine. The guidelines they usually go by are baby should double her birth weight by the time she is 6 months old. She's only 2 ounces away from doubling it already, so I think you are doing just fine! Congrats, by the way.

My 2 1/2 month old daughter weighs 11 lbs. 2 oz. She is breast fed only. Her birth weight was 6 lbs. 2oz. She's starting to really fill out size 0-3 months. It's so nice to see how many of you are breast feeding!

As long as your producing enough milk you can feed your baby until shes 1 or 2 years depending on how long you are planing on doing so. But you may want to start getting her use to a bottle as well some babies wont take the bottle if you are breast feeding and that makes it really hard on them this happened to my niece when she was a baby because my sister-in-law got really sick. It took 3 days before she would take a bottle and we had to feed her milk a sippy cup she was only 2 months old.

Sounds fine if you are worried about how much milk he/she is getting check diapers. If he/she is producing 6 or more wet diapers in a day then your baby is fine. I highly reccomend "The Complete Book Of Breastfeeding" by Marivn S. Eiger, M.D. and Sally Wendkos Olds. Its a very in depth book about breastfeeding, everything you would need to know and more. Also if you have problems and want to talk to someone who has exoperience breastfeeding I strongly suggest contacting your local La Leche League thier website is http://www.lalecheleague.org/

She's more than doubled her birthweight in 14 weeks...that's great!

It's not so much about HOW MUCH they weigh, but if they are gaining and growing at a good, consistant rate.

Keep in mind that if she is being weighed on a different scale or in a different state of dress, that can have some effect on how accurate the weight is.

That's just below average for all normal babies. At 13 weeks old, normal is between 9 lb. 7 oz. and 17 lb. 3 oz. As you can see, normal has a very wide range!! So she is undoubtedly just fine.

when a newborn babies starts to feed they will loose a couple of ounces in weight but they will soon put this back on. From what you say it sounds like your baby is thriving and growing just fine. try not to worry so much.
