It's profiling, and it's unfair. It happens all the time. I don't know what you can do, except keep a positive attitude and don't let it get you down. You're probably a youth, too. When you're older it will stop. They have an idea of what a "bad guy" looks like, and you look like that. So the more you dress a certain way or hang out in a certain place, no matter how innocent you are, they'll be sure to stop you. It will pass. Like I say, keep positive. Don't let it get you down. Peace.

Hmmmm So why do you say busted? Busted to me means arrested. Did they charge with something all 4 times? Or did they just hassel you? Either way it sucks. I guess sometimes we live in a very narrow minded society.

Probably because, as you say, no one knows you. People tend to be more suspicious of people they don't know. It's just the way life works. If you don't cop a bad attitude, they probably won't keep bugging you, but if you keep making a big deal of it, they'll keep watching you.

how you talk and walk influence the way people think of you. if you speak in slang and walk with that loping sway of a gangsta' than that is what people think of you, including cops. if you dress and walk like an upright citizen than that is how people think of you. tats and clothing that cops think of as gang related will get you stopped every time. be who you are not what society says you have to be, be more.

no, but from the sounds of it living in America while being puerto rican is your fault. (i'm not putting you down by saying that, but rather noting that there is apparent racism toward puerto ricans in America)

Do you act like a gangster wannabe? Do you look like you stole something? Do you have cornrows? Yea, I know this is profiling but this is America, you know if you look a certain way you will be profiled. Is it fair? No.
