The animals that are kept by man for his benefit are farm animals.

Generally the term is used in connection with cattle,sheep,goats and horses.But it can include many other animals as well that are kept for commercial purposes. For example, poultry farm and snake farm.

These animals are under the protection and watchful eye of man and cannot roam freely.

They serve the man in various ways.

By the way the term is 'FARM ANIMALS'

Some times that means.. animals that were taken out of the wild and put onto a farm (ie
horses)

That also can refer to fish found in the wild they can be called Farmed or farm raised.

Farmed animals are animals reared for the benefit of humans either to eat or useful in medicine or for clothing etc. they do not work, and their lifespan is limited.Also they must be kept in controlled enviroment at certain standards.
