Can't you give a little thought to your answers. I actually try to give complete, honest answers. By the time I'm done typing, 40 people have replied "Yes" or "I agree." Does anyone else get annoyed by that?? If you are going to type an answer, at least give it some though. The people asking the questions might want more than a yes or no response!...Okay, I'm done ranting. And if someone posts a "yes" response to this question, I'm going to scream. Oh, go ahead, I know you want to.

I agree, but I won't leave it at that. I think most people are in a hurry and want to be "the first" to answer a question assuming that the first answer will get the points. Not knowing that it isn't speed but content that matters in some of these questions. Frenzied answering is silly in my opinion.

Susan, that is quite an interesting point you have there. But don't you think most of these people just answer questions for the sake of collecting points? The older generation actually learns from this experience and therefore do something useful with the time spent on this site, rather than do a mouse race through the questions. I always get some really really funny answers sometimes. I post a religious question in the physics sections because of the fact that it was a paradox. You should have seen the comments they gave me - NOT on my question, but because I posted that in the physics section! Anyway, enjoy your yahoo experience and give me a tinkle in my inbox if you would like a conversation. Raymond

I think many of the people answering questions are under the age of 18 and...they just don't know much. Have you seen some of the other questions? There's nothing really wrong with all of that; when I was 16, 15, 14, etc, I wasn't as articulate either. But I do know how you feel. I find myself clicking on that 'No best answer' button quite a bit :(

I think time is a factor, time it takes to sit down and think of a good answer, time to mull it over and think if your answer goes with the question and your not going off on a tangent.

Everyone is different and has different ways of answering questions, some people just dont like to write, while others are maybe holding back lengthy responses because they dont want to be shot down. Of course I am just throwing some things out there.

A lot a people that answer the question short answers are mainly teenager. I try to give a thoughtful answer, but a lot of the questions you can't give a long answer too. Just remember that some questions are a yes or no question. I have answer a lot of questions with a long answer to, but lately you can't do that. Remember what a lot of questions are asking you.

I've definitely observed this weak trend it annoys me when I recieve that or when I see other users doing it as well. It shows a lack of everything especially consideration, and dedication...and even knowledge. Why bother answering if its just a simple yes or no huh? I don't understand how some people work I guess thats why we all are falling snowflakes... Lmbo ;) YES!! Just for the sake of my computer.. so it doesnt feel so left out ;)

Some people just want the 2 pts for answering the question and giving a short answer like yes or no allows them to move onto another question and do the same thing. I like to elaborate on my answers too....I guess you noticed!

i think they just want the points. or sometimes, i think u click on the question thinking it was going to be good or interesting or worthwhile, and then u find out it is not, and so then u feel inclined to give some sort of answer to the junky question so that u get some type of satisfaction, i.e points, for the time u have wasted reading it. i dont know, thats my feeling.

for two points.

that said, that's why you can award points. obviously if you're bothered by it, award the 10 points to one of those jerks that cut and paste 2,000-3,000 words out of wiki or worse, 5 pages of weird bible passages.

actually, many Q's deserve no more than a word or two. see this is an american based system. perhaps you're not familiar with our system but we are constitutionally guaranteed the freedom to make short answers or long. people have actually died defending our right to answer dumb questions with a dumb answer.

now then, just how many of my precious words do you think i should use to answer "do you think my avatar is hot?"

Susan,I think that a lot of them are into the points. They get two points even if they say I agree.I do think a more concise answer deserves a higher score but I don't know how to change it. How would you judge how an answer gets more points? So for right now we are stuck.Have a wonderful day!
