They are just using us as an example. If we can go to war in Iraq on bunch of lies so can we. If you think Israel is fighting to get back their one soldier think again.

They saw a opportunity and they ran with it. Remember all you need is public support and you can go to war with any one.

No. Hezbollah and the government of Lebanon are not the same damn thing. The government of Lebanon is powerless to rid itself of Hezbollah (largely because the Syrians funnel so much cash into the country) but that doesn't mean the Israelis should have carte blanche. Why should civilians pay for the actions of a terrorist group? Not to mention, when you kill 50 civilians you create 1000 more terrorists as their families will want revenge. All in all Israel is making a stupid mistake. If a terrorist group attacked Mexico from the USA would it be ok for mexicans to kill american citizens?

This question is just like asking "Would it be ok for the Brits and Scots to wipe out Ireland to stop the IRA?"

I would add also that most of Lebanon is Christian and not Muslim for any of you folks who think that these are crazy fundamentalists that are being killed.

YES!!!

Hezbollah is not just a small faction. In Labanon it is the equivalent to America's Redpublican party. It controls the Army, the government, the treasury, and 75% of the voting public.

Your "Should they be allowed" question. Is like saying should terrorist be allowed to attack America just because George Bush and the GOP drew first blood.

According to the Geneva Convention tit for tat warfare is legal.

They're not attacking Lebanon, per se. That is, they are not attacking the Lebanese government, its (non-existant?) forces or the people. They are, due to the failure of the Lebanese government to have control of its own country, chasing down the terrorists who raided Israel and captured the Israeli soldiers.

Raiding another country and capturing its people is an act of war, you know.

----------------------
A correction - they are indeed also holding the Lebanese government responsible for allowing the terrorists to freely operate in southern Lebanon. Also, the terrorists in Lebanon have attacked Israel with rockets.

Lebanon's failure to control its people will result in death and destruction. It is their own fault.

I think it is in their right to attack a country which if giving shelter to terrorists. How different is it than going to war against Iraq? No WMD, bogus intel and innocent americans and Iraqi people dying every day.

Unfortunately, Hezbollah has seats in the Lebanese parliament so it's hard to call them a "rebel" group.
