I usually just brush the soil away from the top of the radish and see what size they might be. How soon you pull them depends a lot on how big you like your radish. I have found that if you let them get too large they tend to get really hot.
Try one or two in different areas of the row and see what size they are.

You can dig a little around one of them to see if it is red. If it is, pull the one you dug around out, wash it off and taste it. You will know if the radishes are ready.

when there the right size if you wait too long they will split or come out of the ground
