Playing for a big club doesn't guaranteed him success and he is wise enough to know it. I hope he stay in Villareal and give the fans some good memories like Maradona did in Napoli.

Tevez??? He is at Corinthians! They are one of the biggest clubs in Brasil!

Riquelme plays for Villarreal because he wasn't settled at his previous club and his former Boca team-mate Rodolpho Arruabarrena (scored the goal against Rangers in the Champions League) was already at the club and said that he might enjoy playing there- don't forget they have a coach from Chile and a squad that includes many South Americans players and they play like a real team. I was really impressed watching them in the Champions League. Real Madrid may have lots of money but all they do is buy big stars that are in the middle or near the end of their career and expect them to turn into some kind of super team. Manchester United are not quite as bad, but they are certainly over-rated- just because they are a brand and are big business does not make them a great club to play for. If I was Riquelme I would stay exactly where he his!

Tevez will probably move to chelsea in the future, as i have reacently heard that corinthians is also backed by the chelsea owner Abramovich. Also the rumours of Real Madrid trying to sign Chelsea winger Arjen Robben, and if Robben do move to Madrid, then Tevez is a good option to fill the Chelsea Left wing, Tevez and Robben have very similar style of playing, both fast and posses individual skills to set up their own goals and for others.

With Riquelme i think he his happy where he is, because money wise it dosent make much difference because most of these european clubs have lot of earning to pay their big gun players. I personally think his game is better suited to the spanish league or Italy Seri A

There is an old rap against Riquelme saying that he 'lacks pace.' What this means is that most of the top clubs in Europe feel he isn't quick enough.

If he did sign for one of the bigger clubs like Real Madrid or ManU, he would find that he would spend most of his time on the bench because of this. It's more a matter of his skills do not match with the style of play of these clubs.

The same goes for Tevez. European teams think in terms of strikers, center forwards, and attacking midfielders. Tevez's style is a mix of all three of these. Because of his unorthodox play, the big European clubs stay away.

(Before his move from Argentina, both these players played for Boca Jr. Perhaps Boca is not 'big' compared to RM/MU, but they have won a number of Club World Championships... so how do you define 'big?' Is it the amount of money the club has to buy players, or is it the number of trophies they have on their shelves?)

You get paid well no matter where you play really if you're in a top league. Plus you actually might have a private life playing for a smaller club yet still get the week in week out high level competition of playing in a top league.

Tevez has played for HUGE clubs--Boca and Corinthians have HUGE support. Maybe they can't match the $$$ of Euro teams but they do draw big crowds.

Also, last I looked it has been awhile since Real or Utd have won trophies vs. other bg clubs.

Its not that he doesn't want to play for them, its just he was on a loan from barcelona and then villareal bought him, and besides why do you think they call him the lazy magician.
