I agree that head start or any other early education programs increase the likely hood of going on to college and reduce your chances of committing a crime.

Whereas more standardized testing has its complications.
when school focus only on the standardized test, instead of learning overall...

Not true-In fact research on the head start program to date show the inability to assess this programs worth.The CCDP (Comprehensive Child Development Program)after a five year study,acknowledged there is no correlation between a child participation in the program and his/her well being. The CCDP spent over $15,000 per family per year and no statistically significant impact was observed as far as the mothers economic self-sufficiency or parenting skills. As for the children,there showed no meaningful impact on cognitive or social-emotional development,or even their health.To date Head Start has made it almost impossible to be truly evaluated and the question congress would like answered is "Does head Start Work?"Because to date Billions of tax payer dollars have been spent on this program but little impact has been proved.Hmmmmm-Money well spent?

FYI - Head Start programs are doing 2 interesting things that most people do not know about. I know about them because Head Start is my client.

First, they spend a lot of their program money on illegal aliens, not on citizens of the USA. More benefits of your tax dollars that you will never see.

Second, they have week-long training meetings/seminars at 4 star luxury resort hotels in Florida, and pay to bring in whole families of illegals. Head Start provides three meals and two snacks each day for everyone, and round the clock child care for them for a whole week. These people ARE NOT citizens.

Yes, I can see how Clinton's programs have helped my child get a better education. NOT.

Did you know that studies show that almost all of the gains by kids from Head Start were wiped out by the 3rd grade, thanks to the public schools.

There was never any proof of long term success due to this program.

Yet another 'do something' feel-good program that never produced the results it hyped.

If you want to convince people of anything, you have to show that the actions achieved the desired results.
