It depends on what style of music you are wanting to play. For about $500 you can get a Fender Standard Strat. That guitar is good for all styles. The only thing I know about the Jaguar is that it is a vintage style guitar. I believe the HH is a hardtail with humbuckers.

I'm not sure about the Fender Jaguar, but it depends on if you're wanting an electric or an acoutic. With ELectric...I love Fender. If you get an American made, it will be a bit more pricey, but you can get one that's made in Mexico for a bit cheaper. If you're going for an acoustic....I'd go with a Martin. They're fantastic guitars and have a great tone and sound. Also, it's comfortable as well

There is nor perfect answer for this question. It is really a matter of preference and what feels and sounds best to you. Here is what I would suggest. A Fender Stratocaster is a good all around guitar, especially for rock music that doesn't have lots of lower end to it. They don't have a beefy tone, but they are versitile. If you want a rock guitar that has a more beefy sound, go with an epiphone Les Paul. Epiphone is Gibson's economy line but they are still very nice guitars, especially for the price range you are talking about. Les Pauls are also versitile but have a more beefy tone to them. If you are looking to play country or rockabilly type of music, I would suggest a Fender Telecaster. The Telecaster has a more twangy sound to it, but don't get me wrong, they can still rock. Prince can play a telecaster like nobody's business. But they are more suited to a country music type of sound. Anyway, I hope this helps you.

You might be able to get an older style guitar with that money but unfortunitly you'd be appreciating it for the classicness of it, not to real sound or modern type you might be looking for. Try an older style Ibanez if you can find one. Check around with some people and see if they have any they'd like to sell you.

But I have a Schecter I think it is, it was about $450 (I traded it in for an old 1970's Ibanez that looked pretty beat up to be honest). It's a good guitar and with good distortion pedals it can actually sound like a bass guitar.

For speed playing/hard rock Ibanez RG. For surf, twang and country, classic rock Fender Strat or Tele. Ibanez Jem and JS 1000, Gibson Les Paul, JET guitars, USA handmade B.C. Rich, and older Paul Reed Smith guitars are great, but out of your price range. Ibanez makes the best budget electrics IMHO, S models play like Strats, RG models play like Gibsons.

well....are you looking for an acoustic guitar or an electric? you can get a fairly nice acoustic for that price. an electric guitar is a little more expensive. if you are going with electric go with the fender. if acoustic try a taylor or yamaha

I would recomend a Fender Standard Stratocaster only $399 with a new shielded body interior, high-mass bridge block, enlarged frets, and a widened choice of colors.
