The magnification of the sunlight by the water droplets is what will cause the scalding. The temperature of the air has nothing to do with it. If its cloudy and 90 degrees no scalding will occur. Its best to water in the morning or evening not only because of reduced scalding but the amount of water loss from evaporation will be less.

It will scald them. The heat from the sun on the petals, stems, etc. turns the cold water into hot water. If you've ever left a full garden hose in the sun you'll know it quite warm, almost hot when you first let the water out.
Water in the early morning or evening.

My sons theory they could attempt to get the finest of mom, and and we were all goofing round with the sprinklers and hoses. My older son climbed up on the darn domicile roof and when I got here out he dumped a bucket of water on me. shall we in basic terms say he were given to " play interior the sprinklers" for a even as as we females people sprayed the adult males each possibility we were given.

Yes that would be ok if you did it in the morning but don't do it after noon because the water has to sink in and it takes a couple hours and then if you do it at night dew will get on it and make your whole garden moldy.

Yes you can. Irrigating at early or night is the most effiecient use of water.
Watering during hot and sunny days causes more water to evaporate before it gets to the roots.

I Think you will be okay. The "scald" factor is a possibilit however I do not think irreversible plant damage will result unles you do this regularly. I would rec. watering in the heat as a last resort

ask yourself , when it showers in the middle of the day and the temp hit's 90° is the grass still there
morning watering is best and to soak to 2 to 3 inchs down to the roots , night time watering helps fugus and slugs thrive.

lazyrivers pretty much got it right! The only small difference I have is that morning watering is better than evenings since staying damp all night helps fungal growth.

it is preferable to irrigate in the morning or evening because you will lose more water to evaporation in the heat of the day, if you are going to water when it is that hot, water heavily!
