It seem's like all you see is women riding in cars during normal business hours than men. Why is this when it takes 2 to make ends meet in todays world?

I work at home, I take care of our kids. Why not an ouside job? because what I would make would be eaten up in daycare, gas and other expenses of working outside of the home. We decided that if we live within our budget we could afford to live on one income. It just takes some budgeting or careful planning. Besides I don't think a daycare could do a better job of raising my kids then me.

I have worked outside the home and had my kids in daycare. I t was scary, They went through a lot of daycares and I decided that was really not good but babysitters would quit or move or just not be doing an a good job. I even had a few that felt they should get every holiday off with pay even if I had to work or if I had off and didn't get paid for it.

Maybe many more people are finding that they can afford to have one parent stay home with kids if they are careful with their finances and decide they don't need the vacation to Disney World every year or the cruises but are fine with smaller vacations and not having a lot of 'toys'. Or maybe the spouse that works makes enough to provide it all.

Yes, women do work. Unfortuantely, some of us don't get paid for our jobs. Being a stay at home mother is a full time job. Many don't apprecitate us enough. I sacrifice lots of things that I used to have-dining out weekly, monthly pedicures, expensive cuts of meats-so I can spend that time with my daughter. The time is precious.
When I worked outside of the home, I often worked 6:30a-somewhere between 12:30 and 5:30 (My schedule changed often). On my lunchbreak I would often go out and run errands, especially when I worked late. I had a 35 minute commute so my time was limited.
There are women who work half days, so they can pick their children up from school. Real estate agents, businesswomen, all have to travel for their jobs, to meet clients.

There are still a lot of traditionalists out there, and not just men. 'Housewives' and 'ladies of leisure' are far less common nowadays, but there are still a lot of stay at home mums who choose not to have a job until all her children are of school age. Although this could be attributed to the fact that research has shown that mothers especially who stay at home with their children during their 'formative years', have children who are smarter.

Also, women still face prejudices in the workplace. As well as being paid less, very few are offered important roles within businesses, and to this day, still a lot of women work part time.

I am a woman who is at work now! Yes it does take two to make ends meet- Like my two jobs plus school full time because baby daddy ran off to war and still waiting on child support! Some women have errands to run or maybe they work opposite shifts of hubby so they don't pay out extra money for daycare!

Im at work right now. maybe the women you see are on lunch break or have days off? I heard some people hire others because of sexism which is not a good buisness practice.

it takes 2 to make ends meet because the government is greedy.

I (a woman) have two jobs. You will see me riding around during normal business hours (or doing errands or leisure activities or at home sleeping) because I do not work normal business hours. Not everyone who isn't at work from 9 to 5 is unemployed.

i currently do not work, but did from the time I was 16 up until last year when I "retired" after my husband died to pursue my education to better support our son and myself. Currently go to school full-time, but arrange my schedule to make sure that I am home to put my son on the school bus and there to meet him when he gets off in the afternoon.

this is by no means an easy situation to live, but the end result will be so well worth it! when my education is complete having a man in my life will be a choice, not a necessity.

The women you see riding in cars could easily be employed in outside sales, real estate, etc. If not, maybe they work as a stay-at-home Mom. That's a choice some couples make now, you know.

It would be interesting to know where you live. In any case, what you're probably seeing is women running errands their men won't run. But those women will STILL have to put in a full day at work.
