My hubby has a bar code (on the back of his neck) - It's quite militant (he can be like that!) but it makes a great statement. He'd suggest it to any one! The symbolism suggests the treatment of people as property, the commercialisation of the west, that we are all just a 'national insurance number' to the government any way.and many other things. - have you seen 'Naked' with David Thewelis? He links bar codes to the devil, the end day/revelations and 'big brother' style government. We love a good conspiracy theory film in my house - it's a laugh!
For your forearm (as you mentioned dragons) have you thought about having a traditional Yakusa Japanese-style Dragon. Everyone seems so stuck in the Celtic thing these days, they forget that the art of tattoo's has a history and spirituality of it's own.

I had tattoos when I was young and stupid when you are getting older they stretch lose their crispness and the ink spreads making them look unsightly blue blotches. luckily when I had mine done I had the sense to have ones that could be kept out of view when needed, most people you will find have a negative view of people with tattoos, they do inhibit your job opportunities especially facial and hand ones. They can also change the kind of partner you attract, first impressions do last no matter what anyone says getting past that first hurdle can be the make or break of a relationship. My advice to you is if you have tatts already stick with them and stop, if you dont, dont bother getting them spend your money on something sensible.

What do you want, all celtic drawings have meanings, i have a celtic buttlerfly on my arm which means - transformation, which is true for me, as something in my life happened and it transformed me into a better person. Think about what you wanna say, and find something that you like. Also talk to your tattooist and maybe even come up with a design between yourselves.

not meaning to be extremely negative, but don't you want your tattoo to have significance to your life? My tattoos are a testament to weher I have been, what I have endured, and who I am. It would be hard for someone in Kinshasa, Kenya, or Dawson city, Yukon, to have any idea who you are , and thus you would end up with a cowboy dancing on a ketchup bottle. Just an idea...

Dude, don't take other people advice on a tattoo that only you are going to have. Get what YOU want not what others suggest. Your the one that has to have this tattoo for life, not them

What about some sort of celtic spiral going around your arm? I fancied getting that done.... maybe I will some day, but at the top of my arm, just below my shoulder.

A naked warrior chick with large breasts weilding a broadsword, riding a giant winged snake, emerging from a giant human skull with a dagger between it's teeth, with blood dripping off it.

One that says, "I am a real idiot" Usually a tattoo is a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling. You may be an exception.
