When you say preteen, I'm thinking about 10. And in that case, simply a clear or light pink lip gloss and a little brown eyeshadow. Just a little. And you can never go wrong with lip gloss.
Don't start wearing eye liner yet, because it would look to heavy on you, start that around 12 or 13.
If you wear too much make up, like foundation, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss, trust me, no matter how little you put, you'll still end up looking like a hooker.
Just use a little to bring out your own natural beauty. Cos once you start putting on so much make up at a young age, for one thing, you'll going to break out more often than others, and another, you would be so hook to it that you won't be able to go out of the house without having a cake with "whipped cream" on your face.

I think for your age lipgloss and maybe some eyeliner is acceptable. Maybe a powder if you are blotchy or oily, but thats pushing it too.
Once you start wearing makeup your going to want to wear everything, and thats okay, but I really don't think people of any age should wear anything except for a subtle lip shade, slight eyeliner and mascara, and a foundation or powder. People don't realize how lovely they really are.
You will probably want to experience with colors and things like that, so I would maybe try those out before school or at least before you start high school to see what you like and what you look best with. Then you can save the embarrasment of wearing something completely awful through out your life because you stuck with some routine you started when you were 11/12/13.

foolproof your face. wear a tinted mosturerizer, pinch your cheeks for a rosy appearance, and maybe a light peachy or pink lip gloss. I'm almost 30 yrs. old & don't wear makeup except for what i've listed. sometimes i also bite my lips to give them some color & i apply a lip gloss. Whatever you decide to wear remember to wash your face faithfully before bed & moisturize. Keep it natural & maybe when you turn 30 you'll look 16 like me!

I don't really think pre-teens need makeup but if you want to wear some than lipgloss is ok and maybe some eyeshadow...but only light colors, because foundation, blush etc. can lead to spots and i can't think of any reason that you would want to wear it!

1. lipgloss
2. not a lot of drak eyeshadow
3. powder foundation
4. eyeliner, only if you know how to put it on, i would aslo ask a pareant about eyeliner,( if they won't to wear it or not)
5. maybe some mascara
If you need some ideas on how much to put on go to a cosmetic's counter in a store and ask question the will give you answers and maybe do your make up and show you how to do it as well

a pre-teen? as in 11/12? NONE
a teenager I would let her wear a lip gloss that has a tint/colour and a little eye shadow.
Within a yr or so she can start wearing mascara & eye liner

As a preteen maybe lip gloss. You don't need to wear anything else because your skin isn't ready for it.

When I was your age I wore very light eyeliner and mascara. This young you don't need foundation or powder... it will just make your complexion worse. I am 18 and still to this day i don't wear either of those. Add some clear lipgloss and thats all you need.

Go to a beautician or a cosmetic counter at a dept. store and let her give you tips on what is good for a teen's skin and how much or little should be applied. She will even give you the right tips on how to use it correctly so it looks nice and not like paint!
