its hard for the jazz to reach the playoffs just because the west is so competetive right now... but if all of them stay healthy particularly AK47 then they can compete with anybody in the league... deron williams will have major help with derek fisher and dee brown coming in... they still have old reliables memo okur and carlos boozer, although boozer is the subject of alot of trade rumors... they also resigned matt harpring who's a solid player... they got ronnie brewer as their 1st round draft pick, i feel brewer can play both the off-guard/small forward position and he's a good defender and he will compete for the starting spot at the 2 position with gordan giricek... the key though will be AK47, coz if he's healthy, he'll be an all-star and they'll surely bump off the lakers for the final playoff spot...

I think that the Jazz will be in the playoffs, i do not know how far they will get. Somone once told me just watch and the jazz will be in the finals again since they are rebuilding the team and they are a young team when there players do what they are suppost to do then they will be a great basketball team. I also think that in addition to Ronnie Brewer, and Derek Fischer it will help the team out. Also they just resigned Matt Harping and Jearon Collins and i think that these players were help out a lot. Just remember they did good last season and almost made the players the last couple of years if injurys do not come there way again then watch them make the playoffs.

absolutely. The Jazz are one of the few franchises in the league that had not gone to the lottery (until 2 yrs ago.) Their biggest problem last year was injuries and inexperience. Disregard the concept of a "franchise" scorer. The Jazz are far too mature a team for that kind of nonsense. Andrei Kirilenko is one of the premier all around players of the NBA, Carlos Boozer when healthy is a solid power forward, Ronnie Brewer was a thumbs-up draft pick, Derron Williams was an even better selection last year, and adding depth to that bench is the best way to insure success. The Jazz might not make the playoffs next year just because of the depth of the West, but after they get a good pick next year, they'll definitely be back on track.

I think they will if they get Stockton, Malone, Ostertag, Hornacek, Russell back, jk...
The West is just a tough conference and with teams like Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio showing up every year, its hard for new teams to get in without a breakout year like the Suns last year. I would give Boozer and Okur some credit and Kirilenko all my skittles, but I don't see much more. Kirilenko is the only defender on the team who is consistent, so they may have problems with team defense, though I don't know how they ranked last year in team defense.
Bottom line: They could be in a couple years with the development of Brewer and D. Williams and Kirilenko still being young, but defense must be a huge priority (Stockton stole balls like kids steal candy back in the day).

Absolutely! The Jazz were so close last year, and I think barring injury, they have added the pieces necessary to make the playoffs. With AK47, Deron Williams, Okur, Boozer, and Harpring at the core, and the editions of Fisher, Brewer, Brown, Hoffa, and Millsap, they have solidified a lot of depth.

There are a range of of NBA cities that just about all adult men ought to instead now no longer play in. Salt Lake city. San Antonio. Milwaukee. Charlotte. Oklahoma city. this is now compared to Sloan is on my own in that regard. skills? He had Malone and Stockton, 2 of the utmost 50 recreation enthusiasts in the historic previous of the NBA. Coached them for 17 years, from 1986 to 2003. 2 Finals appearances. No earrings. The Jazz ought to no longer paintings a substitute or convince some nice loose agent to grow to be a member of them and placed them intense in each and every of those years? Sloan is an pleasing nicely prepare. he's a ways from the pleasant prepare.

They were playoff contenders this season. They just couldn't get over the hump.
If they stay healthy they could be contenders. Still, they need some outside shooting in the worst way as well as some more offense, especially on the perimeter.
It will be interesting to see if Boozer is moved.

I think your team---which is solid---will depend on your big man in the middle. Booze has played and acted soft. If he starts to tear it up, that team will be able to hang out in the west. I do like Okur, AK47, Booze, Williams, and ????????? Fisher will come off the bench (at least he should). How many rookies can you really count on? Brewer is good...but how good. Otherwise, if JAzz have -0- injuries, start buying your playoff tickets early.

Who cares?
All I know is, just hearing "Utah Jazz" makes me sick!
I'm originally from New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz, and used to see the Jazz play in the Superdome in the late 1970s.
It was sad to see them sold to Salt Lake, but the horrible part is, they kept the name Jazz. Utah? Jazz? WTF? It's a SIN I tell ya!
