Rich Hall, the comedian, came up with this idea years ago... and in fact he coined his own phrase for such new words, calling them "Sniglets". The one I always remember is "cheeromagnetism", the tendency of the last few cheerios in the milk to cling together for dear life. ;)
There was actually a word for this already in the English language, though Hall's sniglets are more for humor than for any attempt at making real words. But when you make a new word, it's technically called a "neologism".
After all that, I suppose I should make up a word! Let's see...
Arachnifumble: The tendency to keep your eyes on a spider on the wall while searching for something to kill or contain it with, often causing bumbling and crashing into things.
