I am talking about getting sonograms and ultrasounds to find out the gender of the baby and if it's not what you want, then you abort it. I think it's terrible. This is being done daily in India. They don't want girls. The population of men to women in India is definately not equal. There are many more men than women and they are even trafficking wives in for the men. They are wiping out whole generations of women. Gender selection should be illegal. What do you think?

There is a two or three page article about gender selection in the new Glamour magazine. I read about it in there and it made me so angry.

That's horrible. People are so stupid. How freaking cares if it's a boy or a girl. We are born at random for a reason. Nature knows what it's doing. What the hell are they thinking is going to happen in 20 years?! Why do we de-value women so much?! You can't carry the family name unless you have women to have your children, dumbasses! That's why I love America so much. We have it good compared to other countries.

This problem should solve itself, since many of that disproportionate number of men will now be unable to find wives and reproduce.
However, I agree that this is a horrible practice. If the baby is old enough to have genitalia, it's old enough to feel pain. And how can people not love little girls, who are calmer than little boys and so fun to dress up?! That's just inhuman.

Even if they make it illegal there in India, it won't go away. It's just like the caste system. Even though it's illegal there, some people still keep to it.
I agree, it's horrible. Besides, once you have too many men, how does one expect them to reproduce WITHOUT females?

im not against abortion, but to get an abortion because u wanna baby but dont like the gender is pretty stupid. u have 2 choices, boy or girl, n both choices r really good

Yea, it should be illegal. I understand the reasons why they do it (don't agree with mind) but it is in essence playing god, and deciding things like life and death on the grounds of gender.
