What type of bonds are they? What is the face value of the bonds?

Many times bonds are discussed not in terms of how many bonds but in terms of the total face value.

Are you buying 10 $1,000 bonds?

and no, you would not pay $10,000 for them as they are probably non-coupn bonds that trade at a discount (or a premium)
