I think it's normal that players swear during the match because of the tension.. Materazzi is not the first who says something bad to another player.. Why he must be punished!? How many times we feel "offended" ? I don't think we hit all people that tell us something wrong!Materazzi you're great!!!

I think it's a horrible incident and we should all try to get over it. After listening Zidan and Materazzi, I believe that they are both guilty. The Italian because insulted Zizou (I know it's quite common on the football field, but this doesn't mean that it is OK) and Zidane because he reacted that way. However, Zidane remaines a great player, and everyone will remember his achievements, as well as his final match. Whereas Materazzi is not yet a great player, at least not at an international lever, as Zidane. He still has to improve his skills and his manners!
All in all, I think that although we are on Zidane's side or on Materazzi's, we have to admite that both of them did something wrong.

Zidane was wrong for hitting Materazzi. His excuse was that Materazzi said something degrading about his mother and sister. Im sorry but If you're a jock and cant take trash talk, you're a pussy!!. Materazzi said those things after Zidane told him that if he wanted this Jersey so bad he would give it to him after the game... he said that with a pompous attitude and looking him up and down like he was trash. They were both wrong, but Zidane went passed the line of sanity. He'll have to live with the fact that most people will remember him for that violent act rathen than his career... and Materazzi is one of the new World Champs!!.

This will be resolved when both face the FiFA board soon I hear. Both in my opinion should be reprimanded one way or another. It takes two hands to clap~~!!!

Hopefully we wont hear anymore about it after that!. Im getting fedup of too many questions being posted here!!:(

Everyone talks trash during soccer games...he lost his cool at the worst time. For a veteran to do something like that is absurd.
