153 is my favorite number because it is the smallest 3-digit number (abc) where a^3 + b^3 + c^3 = abc.

1^3 + 5^3 + 3^3 = 153

(370 and 371 are two other examples).

42. It's the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe, and Everything produced by the great computer Deep Thought, the most advanced supercomputer ever built. It was "so amazingly intelligent that even before the data banks had been connected up it had started from 'I think therefore I am' and got as far as the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn it off..."

(Don't ask me what the actual question is, though....)

I have several favourite numbers. Among two-digit numbers, 31, 47, and 59 are my favourites. I have a few favourite four-digit numbers, but I don't want to reveal them as they generally my PINs. I tend to prefer prime numbers over composite numbers, but that is not a hard and fast rule.
